Meet The Face Behind Power Environmental/ Power VAC Services

I’m Norine Jones, the proud owner of Power Environmental/ Power VAC Services.

I look forward to sharing my story. I hope that you will enjoy getting to know me better.

I started my career in the automotive sector and soon worked my way up to body shop manager and service manager in various Ford Dealerships. I enjoyed taking on these roles immensely. However, after a decade, I naturally gravitated towards the family business, which was established in 1966. I was thrilled to join my father and learn the ropes as an HVAC cleaning and hazardous materials contractor.

I slowly became an expert in the various aspects of the industry and helped to grow the firm. Sadly, after nearly fifteen years of working side by side with my father, he passed away. I felt the work we were doing was too important not to continue, so I bought the company in 2016.

At first, I found it very challenging to run the enterprise without my father as a sounding board, but five years on, I’m now satisfied with the progress I’ve made.

During this period, I’ve noticed that the industry has become more technical. Today, technicians must hold government trade licenses, similar to an electrician or plumber, for doing “Type 3” asbestos work. Therefore, I ensure my team is qualified to serve our clients.

I love meeting new clients and understanding their particular needs. Once I assess their requirements, I strive to educate them about the benefits of our process, which removes fear and creates a pleasant experience for them.

Consequently, I work with integrity, and as an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my core values. Therefore, maintaining safety and creating honest solutions is essential to me, even if my firm doesn’t win the project.

I also treat each client equally regardless of gender, race, and religion. Besides, I render the same level of service to an individual homeowner’s project as I do for a commercial client’s project, which has made me successful.

Since taking over the reins of the business, I’ve been extremely busy. But, when I do get some downtime, I like to visit other areas of Ontario and learn a little about this beautiful province. I also care very deeply for my community in Hamilton and believe in giving back in any way possible.

Besides, I have two adult children, four pets, and a large extended family, so spending quality time with them is high on my priority list.

I have enjoyed sharing my story about the things which matter to me and how they influence the way I do business.
